Behind the Novel
I grew up on Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys, Sherlock Holmes, and anything Agatha Christie. I watched Murder She Wrote with my granny, and Hercule Poirot with my dad. In my mind, one of the most fun ways to spend my time was by solving a cozy mystery in a fun place.

Having grown up in a dusty little town in West Texas, I've always been interested in stories that feature the past of the plains. After visiting Sarasota, the home of the Ringling Bros. Circus, I was inspired to write a story showcasing the place I call home, weaving in the fun and excitement of the railroad and the 1920s circus.

Writing the book was a fun experience that made me feel like I was transported to the traveling circus, becoming friends (and enemies) with the colorful characters I created. If you are like me, and find it fun to escape and solve a mystery, if you have ever found yourself captivated by the railroad, if you have ever been entranced by the circus, or inspired by a Southern sunrise, then this story is for you. I hope you enjoy reading the book as much as I enjoyed writing it!

Happy reading!
